Event Details

This event is open to Instructors, Instructor candidates and advanced drivers only.

We will be holding a PCA National Instructor school for instructor candidates. Candidates that successfully complete the training will receive their PCA National Instructor credentials as well as their MSF (Motorsports Safety Foundation) Level 2 credentials.

Advanced drivers not participating in the instructor school will have the opportunity to drive in up to eight 25 minute open sessions. Combining this event with the next day’s track event will provide an abundant amount of track time to kick off the new season.

All instructor candidate registrations must be approved by the Chicago Region’s Chief Driving Instructor. Qualified candidates must have demonstrated:

Personality and Character Traits

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Treat all drivers as peers and with respect
  • Willing to commit to a reasonable number of HPDE events per season as an instructor
  • Displays a mature attitude within the “competitive” track environment

Driving Skills

  • Have at least 12 days of HPDE experience in the Advanced Run group for one or more regions
  • Drives the correct line consistently
  • Able drive at Advanced Run Group speed while analyzing and discussing performance
  • Knows the limitations of the car and its ability

If you are already a Nationally approved instructor, you can participate as an instructor mentor. Instructor mentors not driving will receive a $100 promo code. Mentors who participate in all classrooms are eligible for MSF Level 2 rating. If a mentor is not interested in the MSF Level 2 rating, they do not need to participate in the classroom sessions and can drive in any of the open track sessions their schedule allows.
