This part of the Illinois River Road National Scenic Byway route begins southwest of Chicago in Peru and continues south along the western bank of the Illinois River to the North side of Peoria where it turns to the east side of the river for the return trip to Spring Valley, IL.
Lots to see with plenty of diversions in the historic communities along the river.
