Last year we had so much FUN touring the famous Murals with Homewood’s Event Manager Allisa that we decided to come back this year for a even larger event...The Street Artisan Fair. The fair is a 2 day event with 105 artisan booths, several bands, and street food vendors that attracted over 5,000 people last year.

This event looks like so much fun that we have invited our brethren from the Michiana Chapter to jump in their cars and join us. It’s only 80 mile/1.5 hour drive from South Bend (don’t forget about time change). Michiana’s Region President Murray Bartel and I met at last year’s parade. We thought we should try to bring our two great Regions together for some fun this summer.

We will start out by parking in the St Joseph parking lot (Homewood Police Dept is directly across the street) at 10:30AM where we will meet up with Allisa.

At 11:30...We will take a short 2 minute walk to the Vice District Microbrewery, 18027 Dixie Highway. The owner Jessie will have plenty of room in their 120 seat taproom and take us in small groups for tours of the brewery. Jessie is arranging a food truck from Famous Mae’s Que to supply us with a great BBQ lunch. To make thing super simple...drinks and lunch are on your own tabs, but I need everyone to register online to help make sure Mae’s Que has enough food.

After lunch you are welcome to stay as long as you like at the taproom before heading into the Artisan/Music/Food Fair which is open until 9PM. Homewood has their Farmer’s Market open for business in the morning so we might want to walk across the street before we leave for our walk to the Vice District.

The last time we were at Kane County for a Cougars game the event was a sellout. We will be located directly behind and above home plate where we can enjoy a panoramic view of the on-field action from the SuperSuite, a climate-controlled interior area, as well as private outdoor stadium seating.

Our reserved parking and the ballpark open at 12 p.m. We will stay outside with our cars before we head in at 12:30 for the start of the game and our 2 hour Buffet lunch starts at 1PM. The buffet has tasty Grilled Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Brats, Chicken Breast, Potato Salad, Chips, Cookie and Brownie Tray, and Pepsi Products & Bottled Water. Adult Beverages are available for purchase at the bar just outside the our supersuite.

The great game, lunch, beverages, and reserved parking is at just $35 per adult, but $26 for kids 3-10 years old. Plus one lucky club member will be on the field for the pre-game festivities.

We are taking the Porsches and Pastries on the road again to visit a new location...this time we are heading to Northfield.

Club Member Ron Bean gave me the suggestion to take a look at Three Tarts Bakery. Ann is the owner and she is excited to host the club to her wonderful bakery/cafe.

There is limited parking and the landlord has asked us to park on the outer edges of the parking lot so that we don’t interfere with the other business in the plaza. We need to be out of the parking area just after 10AM so please arrive early(opens at 7AM) so that you have time to meet everyone and hear about their plans for the rest of the year.

Please remember to wear your name tags to get a discount from Ann and help meet everyone. Ann has asked me to give her a idea of of how many of our members are attending to make sure she is ready for us so please take a minute to sign up at Clubregistration.net.
