If you ever had an interest in showing your beautiful Porsche, this is the seminar just for you. It will be moderated by long-time national certified judges and winners who will take the mystery and misery out of what can be an intimidating experience. The seminar will cover the judging basics and show you what both local and national judges are looking for at a judged contest. Sample judging sheets will be provided.

We will advise you on the type of products to use to get the maximum effect when preparing your car. Using various Porsches, we will also show you how to address common faults and what techniques to use to correct them. Whether you have an older Porsche or the newest model, both respond well to proper cleaning and preparation. We will address: Exterior, Interior, Storage area, Engine and Chassis. Even if you are not a competitor these classes will be of great benefit to the caring of your Porsche.

PCA Chicago’s autocross mission is to provide a safe and structured environment in which to promote the development and improvement of driving skills. Autocross is a timed competition where drivers navigate through a temporary course created by traffic cones. Autocross places emphasis on car control, handling and driver skill rather than sheer horsepower. PCA Autocross has many classes which allow any model and vintage Porsche to compete with other Porsches exhibiting similar performance characteristics. The constant attention required for continuous precision turns, plus braking and accelerating, makes autocross one of the highest adrenaline motor sports you may ever attempt. At every event, we are treated to a unique course layout, with lap times in the 40-60 second range.

Three Friday events plus our two-day Oktoberfest weekend.

The season begins with our Novice Day event on Friday, April 26th. This event is dedicated to the novice driver. This is the event to attend if you are new to the club. We typically have 40 or more novice drivers at this event so in addition to learning how to handle your vehicle; it is also a great way to meet fellow club members. Again this year we will be incorporating one experienced group at this Novice Day event. This group is open to all who have previous track experience but have not reached the Instructor level.

The June 21 and July 26 events are open to novice and experienced drivers. Run groups will be based on driver experience. A novice group with both on track and classroom instruction will also be provided. A Special 50th BHF Anniversary event will be on June 21 - Stay Tuned!!

The season ends with the Oktoberfest two-day weekend event. This is open to drivers with previous experience. No novice instruction will be provided. The weekend event includes dinner party Saturday and pizza at the track Sunday.

If you’re thinking about trying a Rallye this year, this is the event to attend. Learn the Rallye basics or brush up on your skills for the upcoming season and Porsche Parade. Porsches are not required but if it’s a nice day it’s always more fun in a Porsche! This is an opportunity to drive your car in a non-track situation with Porsche friends.

There will be a 2 hour class session followed by a short beginner’s Rallye to reinforce the class lessons. Plan to meet at the Rallye end point for some food and drinks and the opportunity to ask questions of other Rallye folks.

There will not be a Spring Driving Tour in 2019. Instead we will have a Summer Driving Tour. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) is one of two vintage car races on city streets in the U.S. We will be driving to Pittsburgh on Friday 7/19. We will stop for a nice barbecue lunch along the way in central Ohio. We will arrive in Pittsburgh at 6:00 pm or so. Friday night is a free night, nothing is planned. Go out and explore the city!

I have reserved a block of 55 rooms at the Hampton Inn University Center Pittsburgh/Oakland for each night (Friday thru Sunday). The discounted room rate is $139.00 per night plus tax. Same price as in 2016 when we last visited!

The Allegheny Region PCA (ARPCA) runs a great event in Schenley Park (where the race course is....). Attendees park their Porsche’s on a fairway, on the golf course. The parking location is a 2 minute walk to the race course. The ARPCA provides a wonderful catered lunch on Saturday and Sunday right on the golf course. Did I mention that every single fairway will be covered with cars from every imaginable marque? It’s an honest to goodness cargasm! Attendees are welcome to tour the paddock area which is just full of amazing and historical race cars. You can walk right up and touch them! There is free shuttle bus service to and from the paddock.

We will caravan to the event from the hotel on Saturday and Sunday morning. The qualifications/racing is through by 5 or 6 pm each day. The hotel will provide a segregated parking area for our Porsche’s. A washing area is also available for the “concours” diehards!

On Sunday evening, we will dine as a group in one of Pittsburgh’s better restaurants. We will travel by motor coach. The view of the city is remarkable. You will see why they call it “Three Rivers Stadium”! (Ask anyone who has been there....) This event is limited to 92 participants!

We will make sure that you have time to explore Pittsburgh which is a great town that has lost its rust-belt reputation! Great shopping, dining and sightseeing are available.

The hotel has approved a Porsche Club cocktail party in the hotel lobby on Saturday evening/night. So we can take over the lobby and party like it’s 1999! (Unfortunately without Prince.)
