The Chicago Region of the Porsche Club of America was established in 1957 as the Chicago-Milwaukee region, making the 6th region in the country. The region was the host of the fourth Parade in 1959 at Nippersink Manor in southern Wisconsin. By 1960, the northern Illinois membership had grown so large that it could support it’s own region and a split at the border could be made. Beginning in 1960, the original Chicago-Milwaukee region became the Chicago region and a new region was created in Milwaukee. We are one of the largest regions with more than 3500 members and are part of PCA’s Zone 13.
For more on how the region started, click here.
The members of the Chicago Region of the Porsche Club of America are joined together and are mutually pledged to the furtherance and promotion of the following:
- The highest standards of courtesy and safety on the roads.
- The enjoyment and sharing of good will and fellowship engendered by owning a Porsche and engaging in such social and other events as may be agreeable to the membership.
- The maintenance of the highest standards of operations and performance of the marque by sharing and exchanging technical and mechanical information.
- The establishment and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships with the Porsche dealers and service sources to the end that the marque shall prosper and continue to enjoy its unique leadership and position in sports car history.
- The interchange of ideas and suggestions with other Porsche Clubs throughout the world and in such cooperation as may be desirable.
- The establishment of such mutually cooperative relationships as may be desirable with other Sports Car Clubs.
- Mutual cooperation with Porsche Club of America, Inc. and with other regions of PCA.

Spring is already upon us, so spring your Porsche out of the garage, enjoy the ride, and enjoy a beautiful spring morning with your friends! All those who register will receive a club calendar.
This event will happen, rain or shine! Come join your friends for our first P&P of the season. Share a cup of coffee, enjoy some fine pastries (both infused with a healthy dash of camaraderie) and spend a fine morning catching up with a hundred of your closest PCA-C friends! This is a great opportunity to tour some cool garages at Big Door Garage Suites in Mundelein, IL.
There is a 200 car limit, so we recommend you register on clubreg by April 15th. We will be asking everyone that registers to print their confirmation email and have it on their dashboard to be allowed in. As a way of saying thanks for going to clubregistration.net everyone will get a copy of the club calendar hot off the press.
Please wear your club name tags to help break the ice for many new members attending their first club event. Everyone wearing their name tags will get free entry in the special raffle.
See you there!

Porsche Club of America-Chicago Region is hosting this unique opportunity to learn the fundamental skills necessary for Precision Care Control from our talented members and instructors. Fundamentals include extreme braking, importance of vehicle balance, fastest and safest line through a turn and many other skills that directly transfer to daily driving, autocross, high speed Driver’s Education and even racing! Experience what it looks and feels like to REALLY control your Porsche in a safe, controlled environment.
Who should attend?
Anyone wanting to improve their driving skills, has a need for speed, or wishes to understand and experience the capability of their vehicle in a safe, closed-course environment. This is also great for folks who plan to participate in other extreme car control, Autocross or Driver’s Education events.
What should I expect?
Classroom and in-car instruction with a heavy emphasis on driving because we believe the best way to learn is to do it! The classroom sessions cover the fundamentals of performance driving and Autocross, the events our club use to test and improve these skills. You’ll also receive personal in-car instruction while navigating through various exercises marked by traffic cones. Finally, you’ll be coached by volunteer PCA-experienced drivers as you negotiate a complete, untimed Autocross course, at your own speed. This event will occur rain or shine (besides, some driving exercises are more fun in the rain!).
Autocross School co-coordinators Adam Kern and Joe Morsello, along with a whole host of volunteer instructors, will be putting on this first driving event of the season.
Pre-registration by April 9th is required. Lunch and a t-shirt are included in the registration fee and must be ordered in advance. Those who do not pre-register by the 9th will not be provided lunch or a t-shirt.
Please be prepared to display a valid driver’s license. Minors must provide junior waivers signed by at least one parent (preferably both).
Snell 2015 SA- or M-approved or newer helmets are required but a few loaner helmets will be available. See the sponsors section of our website for PCA Chicago supporters who can provide you with appropriately sized equipment to meet your needs.

Now’s the time to schedule some springtime excitement! Driving your Porsche at speed on a track, in a safe and controlled environment, with an instructor sitting right next to you!
Blackhawk Farms Raceway, in South Beloit (near the Wisconsin/Illinois border), is a complex 1.9 mile, 7-turn track that provides an ideal learning environment that will keep you focused all day.
We typically have 40+ novice drivers, so this is a great way to meet fellow enthusiasts, learn the track, learn the car, and have a GREAT time doing it. We also incorporate a group of more experienced drivers, so no matter what your experience, this is an excellent “season opener” for you track enthusiasts, or soon-to-be track enthusiasts.
This event is open to all sport cars that pass tech (Cayenne, Macan or other SUV’s are not allowed) and to all drivers 18 and older with an emphasis on the novice driver. This is the event to attend if you are new to the club and are interested in learning how to drive your car on a race track. Novice drivers get a morning and afternoon classroom sessions and in-car instruction. In addition, there is an online classroom session on Wednesday, April 21st starting at 7:30 PM where you will learn the basics of safely driving on a race track and what to expect during the event. Access information for attending the session will be emailed to you after you have completed registration.
We typically have 40 or more novice drivers at this event so in addition to learning how to handle your vehicle. It is also a great way to meet fellow club members. Again this year we will be incorporating one experienced group at this Novice Day event. This group is open to all who have previous track experience but have not reached the Instructor level.
This event is sponsored by longtime PCA Chicago supporter The Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, which will be providing an event souvenir and a free lunch (what’s not to like?)
By the way, we’ll need instructors for our new or less-experienced drivers, but as a thank-you, volunteer instructors will receive a voucher for use at a future PCA Chicago event.

Are you thinking about doing your first Rallye, but want a bit more information before you commit (“sounds cool and everything, but I’m just not sure it’s for me”)? If you’re thinking about a first Rallye, or are an experienced Rallysta but would like a freshener before season starts, then this is THE EVENT; you won’t want to miss it, because everything you need to know is right here in one place! This is an opportunity to drive your car in a non-track situation, on beautiful country or suburban roads, with a whole bunch of your favorite friends and colleagues.
There will be a 2-hour class session before the Rallye itself, and this first event will be set up as a “Rallye 101,” to reinforce what you just learned in the classroom. Plan afterwards to get together with your fellow Rallystas for some food, tasty beverages, and the opportunity to ask questions of other Rallye folks. Since Rallyes are performed in pairs (a driver and a navigator), you’ll need a partner, but if you don’t have one, let us know beforehand and we’ll try to pair you up!

If you’ve ever had an interest in showing your Porsche but didn’t know where to start, or are somewhat intimidated by the entire process, this is the workshop for you. The seminar will be led by certified concours judges and decorated national concours champions who are skilled at taking the mystery and the misery of what can be a daunting but otherwise rewarding process. You’ll be advised about what products work most successfully, what techniques to use or avoid, and common pitfalls or problems that can easily be resolved. Covered topics will include: interiors, exteriors, storage areas, engines and engine bays, and chassis. Even if you’re not (yet) a competitor, you and your Porsche will benefit from this seminar.
This is open only to those who have not participated in previous concours and will be limited to the first twelve (12) who register. The cost is twenty dollars which will cover supplies and lunch expenses. A check made to Chicago Region – PCA must be received two weeks prior to the event. Event Details
The Chicago Region Porsche Club presents RADE, a novice driver school with an emphasis on safety, in Elkhart Lake, WI at Road America—one of the premier racetracks in the country. This program, held over the Memorial Day weekend, was developed to teach novice drivers 18+ the skills necessary to drive your sports Porsche (no SUVs) at its limits in a safe and controlled environment. All students will be provided an in-car instructor to show you the proper “line” around the track, teach how the principles of accel- and deceleration impact your vehicle, and help you learn car awareness on this 4-mile, 14-turn track.
All drivers who have not driven Road America previously should attend the valuable, novice driver’s orientation meeting on Thursday, May 27th at 8p in the Siebkens Resort dining room, featuring veteran Club Race drivers John Ruther and Greg Turek, after which instructors will be assigned. Additional classroom sessions will be provided throughout the weekend.
Registration for this event is exclusively at https://clubregistration.net/events/signUp.cfm/event/11280 where the price schedule is outlined—including premium rates for Early Birds, discounts for 2-driver cars, golf cart rental and an event long-sleeved t-shirt (may not be available if not confirmed prior to May 14th). Online waivers are required for all participants. Your entry will not be confirmed until both e-waivers are completed, and payment is made. Be sure to opt in for text communications to stay up to date with all event announcements.
Cancellations must be made via email to the event coordinator or registrar and will incur a nominal fee after April 4th. There will be no refunds after May 21st or for no shows at the event due to the cost incurred by the club to rent the track to put on this event.
We recommend booking your hotel room as soon as possible as this is traditionally a very popular weekend in this resort town. Mention PCA Chicago if booking at the Osthoff Resort to receive the discounted block room rate. Alternately, camping will be permitted at the track for $50 for the weekend, plus $20 if you need an electrical hookup.
All applicable COVID protocols in place at the time of the event will be recognized and enforced.
INSTRUCTORS: To accommodate in-car instruction for novice drivers, please sign up as an instructor, if you are comfortable. Instructors will receive a non-transferable, non-divisible $75 voucher for 2 days and $100 for full weekend instruction that can be used toward another PCA Chicago track event or the annual holiday Dinner Dance. Instructors will be notified at least a week prior if a student will be assigned.

Our Summer Driving Tour starts at McDonalds in Sugar Grove (Route 47) and proceeds south to southern Illinois. We will not drive on any interstate highways, just the good old back roads, Porsche roads!
We will have lunch Friday at the Hickory Point Golf Course in Forsyth, IL (Decatur area.) Following lunch we will head south to Carbondale and the Hampton Inn Carbondale. This is our host hotel for the weekend!
Friday night is a free night with no planned activities. Time to relax after your nearly 7 hour drive!
On Saturday, we will travel by motor coach from our hotel to the Shawnee National Forest.
We will split our group into two and travel on separate motor coaches. Each coach will stop at several vineyards and breweries and we will meet up at the Von Jakob winery/brewery for lunch! After lunch, we split up again and stop at a couple wineries before we all head back to the hotel.
You will have time to rest, relax and clean up for dinner. We will drive our cars to the Walker’s Bluff Restaurant (4 miles away) which is an amazing dining venue.
We will dine as a group and enjoy the evening! After dinner we head back to the hotel for a peaceful night’s sleep!
On Sunday, you are free to depart at your leisure and drive home on the highways, back roads or whatever suits your fancy!
I reserved a block of 57 rooms at the Hampton Inn Carbondale.
